I'm being sued by an Uber Driver who ran a red light

If you happen to lose (I hope you don't) all that will happen is a judgement will be rendered against you. If you cannot or will not pay there really isn't much the other guy can do to get money out of you. Do you own your own home? He could place a lean against the house but that just means he has to wait till you sell it before he can enforce the lean and collect . Do you have a bank account? He could place a lean against that, however he would have to know where you bank and the bank account number (not likely he would or could) and then have a marshal of the court enforce payment for what ever is in the account up to the full judgement as long as you don't show proof of hardship. He could try to place a garnishment of wages from your employer and collect as much as 25% each pay period but again as long as you are well off and not a sole provider or under hardship.
