I'm Bishop Robert Barron, a Catholic bishop ready to answer any questions about God and religion from nonbelievers. AMA!

I was raised Catholic, went to mass every Sunday, and had a Catholic education from kindergarten to senior year of high school.

I'm a huge believer in being a good person, showing respect, and doing the right thing.

I think religion offers that message but the focus on being a good person is sometimes lost on other not as important aspects of religion like how many rosary's you prayed, growing your hair out for other religions, and cutting off the tip of your....well I won't go there lol

I personally am not a religious person because I just don't know what's out there. I can't say God is real or not and if there is a life after death. I'm okay with not knowing right now and maybe one day I'll find out. All I can do right now is control my own life and live it correctly by being a good person and hopefully making other people's lives better.

I don't really have a question but I think the Catholic church and all religions for that matter need to put more of an emphasis on what their followers can do in their daily life to be the best people they can be. Try to connect more to people's daily lives talk about sensitive subjects like racism, sexual assault, drugs, anger towards co-workers, and other serious subjects.

The followers of religions face these kinds of challenges every day. The world needs morals they can fall back on when things get tough and they need to be reminded they have free will and do have control over their lives.

Being reminded of the spiritual side of things is good but we can't forget that we still have to deal with life on Earth right now.

What kinds of things do you think the church can improve on to provide followers with tips for navigating their daily life that they don't already do?

I also have ideas about to connect with young adults and relating to the daily lives of people but you might not even read this comment. If you do I'd be happy to share.
