I'm a courier who delivers to a ton of Car Dealerships. Plenty of people still need to learn this.

A few years ago I was very lucky and landed a job that doubled my then current salary. I've always wanted a Mercedes since I was little but never thought I could afford one. I grew up dirt poor and have been on my own since about 12. So I saved up for two years to ensure I had a good emergency cushion and a down payment for a car.

I got all my ducks is a row before I went. Checked online to see what kinda credit score and income they require to get a loan or lease a car. Okay, I meet them. Checked for the best prices online and went to the dealership that had the best price. I pull up in my Mazda and walk in. A 50yo guy walks up to me, looks me up and down, I see him deflate a little and then asks how he can help me while at the same time looking in a different direction.

I tell him I want this car and would like to take a test drive. He says they have to check to see if I can get approved before I can take it for a spin. I knew that was bullshit but I wanted a Mercedes so I went along with it. We go back to his desk and he takes my info. Leaves for about 15mins comes back and says I don't qualify. I'm perplexed. I tell them i know my credit score and want to know why im being rejected. I'm very disappointed. He says something about its really hard to get financing from them. He's very dissimisive about the while thing. I ask to see the finance manager. He just stepped out. So I leave.

End up going to the other Mercedes dealership across town. Guy saw I was a vet, he was a vet and he got a good commission. He actyally knows the douche from the first dealership and tells me how much of a tool that guy is. Turns out, after checking my credit report, the asshole from the first dealership never ran my info. Never judge a book by its cover
