You realize that when police conduct a search, the items seized are listed in a document called the return that is then given back to the court that issued the warrant. Those documents then become public record and anyone, media included, can request and do what they want with that information. I challenge you to show me the press release that either the Dallas Police Department, Texas Rangers or Dallas County DA's office released with that particular information. Get back to me when you can't find one and realized that news media released that info themselves to drum up drama. The idea what the police are attempting to "smear" the victim is ludicrous.
