Is feeling that Macintosh Plus is overrated a means of achieving 'elite' cultural status? No, I think people just find it overrated because it's the album that gets most attention due to its crossover success on Youtube, while being one of the more mediocre releases to come out of the genre and even Vektroid's own work.

The vaporwave community is a really diverse place that brings together people from all walks of life with varied interests and influences, I have never encountered another music scene like it
Is there a subculture that lead you to discover Vaporwave? Nope, just got linked some stuff by a friend one day and explored further until I got sucked in
How would you best describe the core values behind Vaporwave? There are no core values because it's too diverse to be narrowed down. Vaporwave today is effectively an empty word that acts as an umbrella term for several different styles of music
