I tried racing the other day for one of the first times. I’m not a big racer, so I tried it once when I first got the game and never again until a few days ago. After one race with contact on, I had nearly given up. People will go out of their way to wreck you. One guy in particular was perfectly happy coming in 10th place so long as he had the chance to wreck everyone. I was host, so I thought I’d give it a go one more time and I booted that guy from the lobby. I have no idea how, but he was able to rejoin. I had turned contact off. He sent me a very rude message telling me to turn contact back on again. No way, Jose. I told him I would if he would leave the lobby, and that it was only on because of him going out of his way to wreck everyone. He just blew up, calling me a tryhard (how?) and salty and a cunt and pretty much everything in the book. I told him he was more than welcome to leave the lobby and that I already booted him once so he wasn’t welcome anyway. He stayed out of spite, of course. I expected nothing less, but since contact was off I didn’t boot him again. He spent the entire race messaging me. I had a pop up every 5 seconds. I can’t begin to tell you how salty he was, yet he was calling me salty. I ended up reporting his messages to Microsoft and got a message later on telling me they took action. Good. He deserved it, the fucking cunt.

If you like contact, good for you, but don’t harass someone to turn it on when they likely have a very good reason to turn it off. It’s likely that if you’re asking someone to turn it on, you’re the problem with racing in this game. I’ll never race again in GTA.
