I'm so god damn lonely

I am willing to get banned from this subreddit for helping you.

When you turn 18, you are now an adult in the USA. Which means you have a lot of responsibility, which also means you are no longer a child. all of that translates into you getting off your ass and doing something with your life, getting off your ass and meeting people. No, no one expects you to become a doctor, to make a shit ton of money or be extremely successful. Your girlfriend, she is also 18, she has things going on, right now you are the same age, and are doing nothing but "laying in bed" waiting for a distraction... from what?

I am not saying this in a dickish tone, a condescending tone, or a disrespectful tone. I am just saying this as some one who needed this told to me as well, but I was a bigger loser at the time.

The solution to this problem - Look for volunteer/job openings or go to college, those sound like PRODUCTIVE distractions that will make you meet friends, and have money.

about your girlfriend - I was also 18 with a girlfriend I was madly in love with, sometimes those kind of things work out, most of the time, they don't... its a harsh reality. if it does work out, great! if not, oh well... the world will keep spinning and you both will keep living. I'm not saying its not okay to be sad, to be upset... but it isn't okay to make yourself depressed and lazy.

I promise you with 100% assurance, you will feel better if you work, if you do something and get paid for it. Pick anything, it doesn't matter, life is longer than it used to be and you have so much time to choose as many paths as you want.

If life is a game then this is just another boss... are you going to be that kid who rage quits and no one wants to be around, or are you going to be the guy saying, I know we can do it this time?
