'I'm going to keep working': Grocery clerks unlikely heroes in U.S. coronavirus fight

I'm a bakery department manager at a supermarket. We were already working hard to make Hot Cross Buns, then corona happened. People are buying everything. All our bread and rolls. My bakers are working from 12am to get enough loaves done for everyone. I'm working 6:30am to assist with community hour, until 7pm to close up my bakery.

It's hard work. Tiring. But I would do more if I could. Seeing people happy they can take food home to their kids is so rewarding. I had a customer in tears because I helped her with some products.

I'm in Australia; my city has few cases of the virus, but people are still panicking. I do as much as I can to provide for my customers. It's not about sales, it's about helping people live
