I'm having performance issues, wondering if others are in the same boat.

I have a GTX780/[email protected] and I used to have inconsistent performance (from 100 down to 40 in fights - not terrible but annoying). My computer shouldn't be dropping frames even on very high settings, it certainly doesn't in other games, so I started doing some research.

I ended up following some of an FPS guide on the forum, but I had to work so I didn't play until after the last patch. I'm not sure how much can be contributed to either, but I'm running the game super smooth now and it still looks great (most the in-game settings I still have on very high). I would try modifying your configs and setting them to read-only so the game doesn't change them.

My DefaultUserProfile.ini:

[BCMPGame.Profile_K] SplitScreenType=eSST_2P_HORIZONTAL bShowHitPoints=true MaxSmoothedFramerate=80 bOneFrameThreadLag=false bUseMouseSmoothing=false bSmoothFrameRate=false LookSensitivity=1.0 FOV=110.000000 bSeenInitialMovie=True bInvertYAxis=False bVibration=False bEULAd=False MSAA=0

I have the framerate setting here at 80, but it doesn't actually cap it, nor does setting it in game. I run 100fps with vsync on because my monitor is at 100hz, so I don't think that setting matters. I think the only one I changed from how I had it in this file was turning off the oneframethreadlag.

DefaultSystemSettings.ini has more sections, here's the ones I think I modified...

[SystemSettings] AllowSilhouettes=False AmbientOcclusion=False MotionBlur=False MotionBlurPause=False AllowRadialBlur=False Fullscreen=False UseVsync=True bAllowD3D9MSAA=False MaxAnisotropy=8 MaxMultiSamples=8 UseDirectSound=True AllowBackgroundAudio=False AllowD3D11=True ResX=1280 ResY=720 MotionBlurSkinning=1 StaticDecals=False DynamicDecals=true UnbatchedDecals=False DecalCullDistanceScale=0.250000 DynamicLights=False DynamicShadows=False LightEnvironmentShadows=False CompositeDynamicLights=False SHSecondaryLighting=False DirectionalLightmaps=False MotionBlur=False MotionBlurPause=False MotionBlurSkinning=0 DepthOfField=False AmbientOcclusion=False Bloom=false bAllowLightShafts=False Distortion=false FilteredDistortion=false DropParticleDistortion=False bAllowDownsampledTranslucency=False SpeedTreeLeaves=false SpeedTreeFronds=false OnlyStreamInTextures=False LensFlares=False FogVolumes=False FloatingPointRenderTargets=False OneFrameThreadLag=False

I use vsync, some people don't like it (because they don't know what triple buffering is and think it's still 1999). I kept the low/medium/high/etc settings the same and use the highest one in game. I don't remember exactly what I changed, so I don't know which settings did it for me, but I'm running the game WAY better than I used to be. I still drop down to 70-80 once in a while in big engagements (on 1440 resolution) but it's totally reasonable. I'd give these a shot and see what happens.
