I'm indecisive! Which looks better?

TL;DR: I have an opportunity to get a dress that I liked originally. Do I get it?

THE DRESSES:

  • I went with my mom to David's Bridal. I hate my mom. We loved this dress (photo #1) (Pleated Strapless Wedding Dress with Empire Waist).
  • I went with my maid of honor to BHLDN. It was a great experience, and we loved this dress (photo #2) (Wtoo by Watters Effie Skirt in Moscato with a custom top).

ORIGINAL THOUGHTS:

  • I love both these dresses, but I was indecisive on which to pick.
  • Out of spite, I didn't want the dress that my mom liked. But, I didn't go with my maid of honor to David's Bridal. Maybe if we went there together, I would have had other thoughts.
  • The BHLDN dress is an opportunity to elaborately dress up for this (preferably) once-in-a-lifetime event
  • The David's Bridal dress is much less expensive than the BHLDN two-piece. I have felt and continue to feel major guilt that I have such an expensive dress.

TIMELINE:

  • Purchased the BHLDN dress in 2019
  • Alterations done in early 2020
  • Wedding was planned for summer 2020
  • Took photos in wedding outfits to commemorate the date
  • Wedding is postponed to May 2022

CURRENT THOUGHTS:

  • I have already spent over $1000 on the dress that I currently own (for the items and alterations)
  • I found the David's Bridal dress for about $300, and I still need to alter it ($$) because I'm short
  • I feel like the David's Bridal dress is more forgiving no matter what size I am
  • To improve the BHLDN dress, I bought the Colette top to wear instead of my custom top. But, it's tight, and I need to lose weight.
  • Despite the ways the dresses fit on me, I still should and would like to lose weight

So... which dress should I go with? Should I stick with the one that I own, or should I buy the one that I previously liked?
