I'm just interested as to what the mindset is for becoming a vegetarian

I have some digestive issues that would make a vegan diet excessively restrictive. My body doesn't like it much. Same with availability of ingredients. I live in a place that's very far from vegetarian-friendly and it's already hard enough. It's far easier to eat vegan when I'm traveling. My body needs good digestibility though, and I manage to do it with dairy and eggs.

There is also another reason. I spent my teenage years learning country life with farmers. I believe that all life is precious. And at the same time I don't have the same relationship with farming, breeding and wildlife as vegans do. So, there isn't just one omnivore ideology vs one vegan ideology and that's all. So many people are stuck with this black and white view when it comes to our relationship with animals, but there's so much more than that. I'm always for a pragmatic, healthy and peaceful middle ground.
