I'm just a student in the UK currently procrastinating studying for my imminent A level (basically pre-university) exams, AMA

Thanks! I'm currently studying history, politics and philosophy.

no worries! ah, my mum used to be a history teacher and did some research etc. back in the day, she's pretty into those three disciplines hah. I like 'em too but not my main area of focus when it comes to study

I always found maths to be a bit boring, to be honest.

blasphemy! jks, I totally get you, maths really isn't for everyone (my mum hates it haha, even though she's not that bad at it). I'm starting to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of it more now but I used to find maths for the sake of maths/really pure and abstract stuff uninteresting; I prefer physics but chiefly I've always been into applications of maths and tech and knew I'd go into an engineering field if not compsci, I like to actually create useful things using the maths I've learnt

Essay-based subjects are definitely my strength, plus I already had a strong interest in the subjects I chose.

yeah, sounds like you're in a strong position there! I've also always been good at essays thankfully (unlike many of my maths/science peers haha), I'm kinda a jack of all trades (but master of none :v), but I'd still say I'm stronger with maths/science and that's where more of my interest lies regardless; obviously it's important to pursue what you actually enjoy lol

After college I'll be studying at the University of Liverpool, although I don't know what I'll be doing after that. Just see where life takes me, I suppose.

sounds like a great idea to me! I also plan to go to uni but also don't really have any specific plans beyond that, gonna see what happens down the line~ (I also think excessive planning in advance can be a bit pointless too haha)
