I'm looking to get into Lake Trout fishing in Summit County, CO, this year, what do I need.

"So you don't think i have to go for the fly fishing route. Im not super serious and don't want to spend much (maybe around 100) but I'd like to have the excitement of being able to catch a fish every other day while reading and relaxing on the boat. You think I would have any success just get some fishing twine, tying it to the boat, get some lures/bait, and a net and fish while just floating around and going up and down the shoreline?"

I hope this isn't offensive or anything but you sound like you are newer to the world of fishing. First, if you wan't to just catch some fish every other day, I would find some fish close to home, somewhere you can get to within twenty or less minutes from home. I am not to hip to mackinaw and how you target them, but rest assured they are all up in the mountains, where the winds are horrible. Investing in a small boat like that may not be the best move, as many of those lakes white cap really bad in high winds. You could do it, but I would suggest learning the boat first on safer water. I myself have a one man pontoon, a life time of boating, and I still don't take my boat out under unsafe conditions. Also, you would be fishing deep so you would need a fairly powerful trolling motor, and an anchor with at least eighty feet of line. Also, that is an inflatable. Should you be out in the middle of a huge lake in a hundred feet of water, and you get a valve failure, well I will let your imagination do the rest there :) You also mentioned you want to spend under a hundred, which isn't really possible with a boat (life vest, motor/battery, paddles, anchor/line, registration (if motorized), and all the other crap you will find yourself blowing money on.

Barker Reservoir, Barnes Meadow Reservoir, Big Creek Lake(lower), Big Creek Lake(upper), Blue Mesa Reservoir, Chambers Lake, Cottonwood Lake (Buena Vista), Crystal Creek Reservoir, Deep Lake, Granby Lake, Grand Lake, Green Mountain Reservoir, Gross Reservoir, Jefferson Lake, Joe Wright Reservoir, Marys Lake, Mount Elbert Forebay, North Catamount Reservoir, Rampart Reservoir, Ruedi Reservoir, Lake San Cristobal, Shadow Mountain Reservoir, South Catamount Reservoir, Taylor Park Reservoir, Teal Lake, Turquoise Lake, Twin Lakes, Williams Fork Reservoir...

These spots all have mackinaw. Most of the lake trout fishing is actually done on ice. Most of my buddies love jigging for 'em using two to three inch white tubes.
