I'm a mom getting in shape with a Fitbit Charge. Looking for friends to motivate!

When I first got a Fitbit in January, my daily goal was 10k steps. It's hard for me to get a lot of steps in working a desk job. I started to go for a walk during lunch, a really long walk after dinner, try to use stairs whenever I can, and park furthest away from the door etc. Then I decided to get an elliptical so I could use it at home when the weather isn't cooperating. Next thing you know I wake up an hour early and jump on the elliptical for 45 minutes every morning before work.

Since I've been walking so much more, I decided to give running a shot; I've never ran more than a 5k before April and absolutely hated running. I am now running 20-30 miles a week and loving it! I just signed up to run my first marathon in October and I ran 12 miles last Saturday. I've gone from 143lbs in January to 128 lbs in April. Today I weigh in at 126lbs and hoping to stay there (I'm 5'5). My daily average now is between 20k-30k steps and will be increasing so much more now that I started my marathon training this week!

A dozen of my colleagues bought a FitBit after they saw how well I was doing. They were walking and being motivated for a couple of weeks and now barely anyone is walking. They said it isn't working for them since they haven't lost any weight (they're averaging around 4k-5k steps a day). FitBit isn't a fat melting machine but a motivational tool to help you push yourself a little further and doing challenges definitely help you stay motivated. I love all the random internet strangers that got me from size 6 to size 2. I thank you all since I met most of you in this sub! Good luck and feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
