I'm muslim and I feel sick because of this.

Hello, I grew up in a very conservative Muslim household which only accomplished in successfully pushing me away from Islam. But from the ages of 5-18 I had extensive Islamic lessons pushed at me, to the tune of four classes a week at its max. So I’m not speaking out of ignorance but rather knowledge: I disagree with a lot of points it makes and it’s not for me. However, depending on what university you go to in America, most (there will be a few bad apples if you’re unlucky enough to run into them but I think that’s a fact anywhere) people are of the mindset: you do you. As long as you are not trying to preach or shove your ideas into others, a lot of people are respectful of what you practice. I have plenty of Muslim and non Muslim friends and haven’t firsthand witnessed any prejudices and I live in the south. They’ll accept you regardless of religion. If they’re not maybe look inward and see if it has more to do with your personality and other character traits religion aside..... you may have more of an answer there
