I'm not drinking today.

Forgot to update - still here, still sober, still sleepless. Overall I obviously got what I needed for last night out of the meeting. Spoke with a few good people afterwards that share similar "dual diagnoses" as myself so I was able to connect on some not necessarily booze exclusive points. Also sort of reinforced my whole leaving aspects of their program aside and supplementing it by other means while using it as I see fit.

Most of all? I learned not to go back to that specific meeting. Guys next to me, likely court ordered but also regulars, sitting next to me giggling and whispering to eachother. Cracking jokes to themselves about not only the guy who shared he's been sober less than 48 hours and clearly showing so, but also everyone else around them through the entire hour. Just generally being dicks.

I'm no stranger to people like this but I'd assume there's a time and place - or at least some sort of order to these types of meetings as there were in my past attempts. So I'm gonna try another one today as clearly it had some positive effect. I've never tried meetings in this area so hopefully it's not the norm with these crowds.
