I'm now on my 10th year trying to make it as an indie dev. Because of reddit's feedback, my game Geneshift is now a Battle Royale where you can blow up cars and run over console peasants!

Did I say peasants? I meant civilians! Last time I posted here a bunch of redditors said I should make the game more immersive and GTA2 like. So I've added civilians who drive around the roads and wander the streets. I'm glad I listened cause they turned out great!

To celebrate (or mourn?) my 10th year trying to finish this game, I want to say cheers for all the feedback over the years. As way of saying thanks, I've put up a free edition of the game on Steam. You can hop on for a few rounds and see how things have progressed! It's free real estate (and free multiplayer). No catch or restrictions or anything like that. I'm just keen to see who can get a 5 star wanted level the fastest.

Also, cause people always ask, here's a bit of backstory on how I made the game. It's coded from scratch in C++ and OpenGL, and I've been working on it solo for 10 years now. I quit my job in 2014 to go full time with it. To keep costs down, I moved to Peru to live a cheap life of coding, sunshine and guinea pigs (you can eat them). Now Geneshift is on Early Access and I'm fighting the eternal indie struggle of getting noticed and buillding a playerbase. But progress is being made slowly but surely, and it's in large part because of reddit's constant help. So thanks!
