I'm protesting whatever they're protesting. [Hitomi Tanaka & Anri Okita]

Totally agree. I think this idea of being offended by non-Natives wearing traditional Native clothing goes hand-in-hand with culturally freezing Native culture in time. Like it's so precious and fragile that if it's handled incorrectly it will somehow turn to dust and disappear forever. To put it in perspective, no one would be a offended if a black man threw on a Liederhosen for Oktoberfest and am sure has happened a zillion times without anyone labelling the black man a cultural appropriator. Maybe some do, but I certainly wouldn't care if it was done with the the right intentions.

Besides, it's clothing and culture, which by its very nature is meant to be shared. Look at how Western art was influenced when it came into contact with Asian culture. Heck, the suit and tie was traditionally European but now it's worn the world-over.

My point is this: to cut-off (essentially segregate) Native culture from that interchange of ideas because a handful of people think only people of certain genetic background can wear it is doing both Native and human culture a disservice.

There is one caveat though, and that's if someone wears an outfit for the expressed purpose to mock Native culture. That's definite no-go.

Sorry guys, I'll let you get back to your porn.
