I don't know if I can be at all helpful, but I'm white, straight, male, 34 y/o and Peach State, born and raised, got an accent anyone 45 mins. north of me can pick out. I'll be honest and say I was never going to be right wing. Now, I was as pissed off as anybody when 9/11 happened, but it lasted for only a moment before I realized everything was gonna turn into a shitshow. It's not gonna be easy being leftwing, but here's the thing: it's not supposed to be. Empathy is rough, but you already had that if you're even considering this side of politics. Empathy, even tho it's rough, is a good thing. We're supposed to care about each other. It's true this is an uphill battle, but everything worth having always was. You were misled, lied to and misinformed by bad actors and I'm glad you came around, so I can call you comrade. Hope to see you around here, comrade and you keep that good heart of yours.
