Some of the countries listed here are hyperbole. I used to live in Georgia and Georgia has been rated as being super safe on crime indexes and competed with Japan and Korea in terms of safety. Other countries listed here might be obscure destinations but on metrics like the UN's Office on Drug and Crime aren't particularly bad places. It's just western (closet) racism that every 2nd and 3rd world country is a dangerous shithole. When all the irony is, due to varying factors (such as a high indigenous / local drug consumption problem), is a lot of western countries dominate the top 20 for theft and a couple have now entered the top 20 for armed robbery.
