I'm sorry, but is anyone else tired of the constant and unending harsh criticism of the newer generation of games?

For me, it's less of the western prudish "boobs are bad" mentality and more that it's an incredibly lazy crutch. I don't care at all about the bride outfits or whatever. It's actually a pretty petty outcry imo. Heroes is a mass-appealing gacha game that was conceived entirely on series-wide fanservice (Ike is the greatest hero ever, guys!). Bunny suits and wedding dresses are just par for the course. It's when it starts to rear its head in areas it really doesn't need to that starts to bother me. I can't look at half of the female outfit designs in Fates and tell myself that it was in creative spirit. I get that I'm not really who they're trying to market the game to anymore, but I still expect a series that puts a huge focus on story and narrative to at least try to reel it in, western or not.

In other words, I see the increasing focus in fanservice as IS not having as much faith in their series as they should. A bit more of a cynical view than I'd like to admit, but I suppose that's just my 2 cents.

Although I do agree that a handful of people on this sub need to differentiate between discussion and attacks.
