I'm sorry if this has been done a million times

I beat Dark Souls today aswell!

What a ride. I had the game in Steam for like 2 years and played it for like an hour when I started it back then. Immediately gave up because the graphics looked like shit...didn't know DSfix existed.

Got that DSfix, made some changes and started seriously playing it 2 weeks ago. My brother almost killed me when the first Black Knight dropped the sword since it's supposed to be pretty rare (?).

Ended up playing the entire playthrough with that thing. The leveldesign, the enemies, the music and atmosphere was just top notch. There were many areas I absolutely hated tho. My first trip to Blighttown was hell. Hated it and just bolted to Quelaags Lair once I knew where it was. Catacombs and the Tomb of the Giants was hell aswell. I actually stopped playing for 2 days because it put me off to go through that damn tomb.

Bosses who gave me the most trouble were Ornstein and Smough and the damn Bed of Chaos. Everything else either died on my first try or 3 tries tops. Manus was crazy, but I decided to just flat outtank him. Artorias was my favourite boss. Although I downed him on my 3rd try, it was intense as fuck because using an Estus was so hard since he attacked non-stop.

Gwyn was actually very anti-climactic. I beat him on my first try. I must admit though, that I accidentally used the Parry button instead of my "block" button and parried him. I was honestly confused, since I didn't expect it to be able to parry the final boss of the game. Beat him by parrying only!

As I said at the beginning, what a great game. I've never been as cautious playing a video game as I was playing this. The encouragement and praise I got from friends was another moral boost. I think if you play the game and friends who already played it follow your playthrough, it makes the game even better.

On to Dark Souls II I guess!
