I'm starting to lose faith in humanity, this was on a post about that officer who pulled her gun rather than her taser

I would never compare cops to pilots as that is disrespectful to pilots to be compared to cops. Most flying jobs require a degree (if you want to be competitive you have to have one). Pilots also have have a great record of not crashing as world wide 0.27 deaths happen per 1 million flights. I do not think cops have the same record of quality.

On one hand you say cops are being trained really well yet we are still having problems with the police. So I guess the training is fine its just the candidates that are bad. Is the solution to keep the training but to require more strict hiring standards? A license that can be revoked? How do you fix police as they are currently broken. I wouldn't say all cops are bad but when 90 percent of them don't tell on the 10 percent of bad ones you have a problem.
