I'm so stressed and depressed. Application after application, rejection after reject. Time to give up?

I'm not sorry that I majored in zoology, because I loved the topic. I was aiming for veterinary school and zoology was one pathway to get there, but I didn't get in. This was back in the 1970's, and even then there wasn't much for a zoology major except cleaning cages.

When I didn't get into vet school, I considered the allied health sciences... for me, specifically, it was pulmonary therapy. But I didn't get in there, either.

I found a program that would give me an accelerated Masters degree and a secondary school teaching certificate. I taught 9th grade biology for one year, and hated everything but the actual lesson planning and teaching.

Then I lucked into a role as an instructional designer for a company that developed online training, and I did that for 30 years. So it was a crooked path to find something I enjoyed doing, but I did find that path.
