I'm thinking of being a Socialist, but I need some answers to these things. Can you help me out, please?

Thanks for answering!

No, socialism is understood to be the lead up to communism,so basically you are in the process of building a classless, moneyless and stateless society.

This has always been something that has confused me. If socialism is about leading to communism then why not just be a communist?

Nowadays I think it's safe to say that that is the case. Historically maybe less so if you look at previous "socialist" states. But I think that this is simply because social acceptance of LGBT+ people has increased in general.

This is good to here. As a Christian, I believe in rights for everyone.

While the term socialism has been abused to fool the working classes (I. E. national-socialism), socialism refers to a left-wing ideology.

But what about right wing socialism?

What would happen to religions?

Well, what would happen to religions in a socialist society? Would I as a devout Christian woman be allowed to attend church and practice my faith freely without fear of discrimination? I say this because aren't communists opposed to religion?
