I'm thinking of getting a german shepherd, I haven't owned a dog before, but I've done a lot of research and I am very active. Am i making a mistake? [Help]

Not that I can say much myself since I never owned a dog, but I believe German Shepard’s are both an amazing breed but very difficult to train. As they’re very strong-willed and can turn out to be destructive/aggressive towards strangers if not properly thought, I’d recommend getting a golden retriever or Labrador. They’re super friendly dogs and VERY active as well. They’re also extremely smart and sweet, and I believe, easier to train. Try to look for a female since male dogs are usually a challenge when it comes to learning rules.

Like I said, I’m far away from being an expert and you should probably talk to people that have owned German Shepard’s before. Just thought I’d share some of my little dog-knowledge :)

Good luck!
