I'm worried about class design in Shadowlands.

Are you serious? If you commit your void elf racial AND a blink you gain double the distance of a regular blink? Which again would cost you 2 GCDs, compared to double shimmer costing zero GCDs and allowing you to cast the whole time.

Why are you thinking I am comparing the void elf racial to shimmer? I get it is not on the GCD. I am just saying it is useful to get away and even then, most melee are still able to be on top of me. Use racial, use blink, bait out their charge or whatever, use racial again and im max distance from them.

Like you are acting like everyone who plays PvP or deserves any opinion is the top 5% of pvp players.

Again I dont know why you are going off on some tantrum about me using Void Elf. I never claimed to be a top PvPer. Like holy shit.

Mages are not squishy, they have some of the best defensive abilities in the game, only Paladin and Rogues have more defensives.

Are you fucking counting the number of defensives to equate squishyness? Thats not how this works.

Frost Mage isn't great right now, you're correct. However it is not weak because it's squishy or immobile. it's weak because it doesn't have high sustained damage and cannot target swap to kill easily, unlike fire mage. Frost can do absurd burst damage and has the most control of any mage spec, Icy Veins just doesn't hold a candle to Combustion as a PvP CD.

Frost mage isn't being nerfed right now, so there's no point complaining about this shimmer change affecting frost right now. Who knows how frost mage will look in SL, maybe with soul-binds and covenant abilities frost mage will be bonkers and the shimmer change is neccessary, we are still 6 months away from release.

Its a huge blanket nerf to mages and they have said there are no more major class changes happening as far as I know.

Literally everyone who plays Shadowlands are saying mages are bad and feel bad. So dont take my word for it.
