There's the love you feel when something is new and interesting, which is I think what you mean, and then there's the love you feel when you can overcome a great obstacle to reach your goal. You can't feel this kind of love without those obstacles. You have to reach a point where you think you can't go on any further, and you're going to break, and you have to let it wash over you and still make it through. If you end up closer to your goal than you were before, you will feel that love, because really it's a love of yourself. You know what you are made of, and you have earned some self-respect.

Of course, if you're never going to reach that goal, and you don't, even though you overcome many obstacles, there will be no fanfare of your passing. No one cares but you. You're probably not going to be rememered for not making it. This means you should probably pick something you have a realistic shot at achieving, but you don't have to - it's your life. It's helpful to know your strengths, and for that you need to try lots of things to see how much of it you can tolerate. You will give up on many, many things before you will find the things that you can't give up on.
