My definition of mental illness is the medical one, i.e. a chemical imbalance of the brain severe enough to cause changes in behaviour.

So first off the article does not imply this lady has any form of mental illness, in the clinical sense, such as your deffinition. So your original comment and this comment are contradictory, which ia fine, we are all human and are prone to making co tradictory thoughts, just think about it. So im sure that someone as intelligent as you could easily see from my point of view on how your deffinition of mental illness might be subject to a little bit of language evolution.
