Immigrant in r/Pics shares a photo of her new American citizenship. Users start a civil war over it. And not the action packed Captain America kind.

That's the reason I was leaning towards, since it makes sense more consumers would require businesses to keep up. I already knew a majority of illegal immigrants pay taxes. There was an article posted a while ago that was very informative and detailed even the lengths people go to to pay taxes. The only reason I mentioned taxes was tied into job availability, that's all. It was just part of his argument I didn't understand.

No. I haven't shed blood. Although I have a feeling either way would have the same response. I apologize if I offended you. For better or for worse the people who live here have shaped the US into what it is now with a good chunk of those being immigrants. It's been shaped into something desirable. But, as the system is now, it's shit and it's the only way to become a full fledged citizen and not have to worry about being denied jobs or social welfare. I'm sure you know all this and I'm just rambling at this point. I guess the jist of what I mean is (most) everyone work(s)ed hard for whatever sliver they've managed to carve out. The immigration process takes too long. But we need to make sure we have the infrastructure to support everyone. My home town is something silly like 98% occupancy for housing and what's left is expensive as shit with garbage public transit. I'm not sure if a controlled cycle of growth is best or not.
