The Imperial Council - /r/eu4 Weekly General Help Thread: October 7 2019

So it's ~1590 and I've dismantled the HRE as theodoro and looking to rapidly expand once absolutism hits and my ally russia while defending his ally is getting wrecked by the commonwealth.

Suddenly ottomans and his small allys + a large AQ whos also my ally attack russia as well.

I'm thinking about whether to defend or not.

Russia has my dynasty but I havent had the chance to force PU him yet due to being too weak/him always having an heir. Best cas scenario would be me breaking the alliance and him still staying friendly, but i feel like that's unlikely since I'm protestant and allied to some of his rivals as well.

My troops are super squishy though and I cannot win any battles against austria so I'm thinking about abandoning my ally and hoping he doesnt break the royal marriage and also does not get an heir so I can PU him while he is weak.

russia has a total of 2 units so they are royally screwed, I'd have to do the heavy lifting, but I'm leaning towards not doing it.

I'm on ~80 units with a force limit of 96 and more than enough income to suddenly merc up and ottomans are on 72 units with a higher force limit, but i suspect their troops will be far stronger.

Would you defend russia?
