My point only was that your rule isn’t set in stone. It depends on the situation and once the game was tied they shouldn’t let strahm go into the 9th. I think Yates was your best option if you aren’t going pomeranz... maybe you go pagan or another high leverage... again my point is you aren’t pitching strahm in the 9th and if your only high leverage option is Yates because of availability then you pitch him... not pitching a non high leverage long reliever in the 9th of a tied game is just as much of a rule as whether or not you pitch your closer in the 9th or the 10th as an away team in a tied game... also you are still pitching Yates in the 10th if it’s still tied and not your 8-6 scenario so my point remains if availability is the issue with Pom and pagan why not pitch Yates in the 9th
