The important thing here isn’t the loss as much as the difficulty to replace.. the more skilled labour vanishes the greater the inequality, the greater the difficulty to improve your lot in life and the less of a future your children have..

I can agree with you on some points but not all.

Price of food is same same. Certain things cost more but the quality in my opinion is a little better. We regularly do a comparison.

I cant say if food here or in SA is better, but the diversity is great. Restaurants are a step above SA though.

Housing here is ridiculous I agree

I don’t care for cannabis or any narcotics so NA to me

Each country has its own benefits of diversity. But I can go snowboard and take my jetski out on the same day. But yes, I do miss the KNP.

Climate here on the north island is pretty moderate. Rarely goes below freezing where I live and almost never above 30. Humidity is high though, but so is it in most of the east and north of SA

People here in NZ are way friendlier and less judgemental than I have ever seen in SA. Maybe it is different in the Cape but I have not been there enough to experience it.

Yes we have almost zero freedom right now that is true. But before lockdown it was great. But our public health system is amazing and of great quality.

Yes we are very privileged to be here. For us it has worked out pretty well. We are financially above average income that we would never be able to ever earn in SA. We save more in 6 months here than we earned in a year in SA so we are privileged, fortunate and blessed to be here.

I can say one thing though. If somehow by a miracle, SA can manage to bring crime down to the same level it is here in NZ and keep it there, I would be back in SA in a heartbeat.
