Of course, even granting this doesn't kill creator gods, as multiple alternatives exist. Maybe the creator made the universe from something previously existing, or maybe we are all just a dream in the mind of a god. However, creation from nothing is certainly the mainstream view in certain religions, and I'll leave it as a puzzle for those who share my conclusion as to why.
Then you're not dealing with an ultimate God, but something more like a demiurge or Olympian God. The "Big Kahuna" has to necessarily exist, unlike all these mere contingent possibilities; a contingent "god" would have to be something caused, and not self sufficient.
