I got a question regarding faceoffs;

I just played some guy who didn't even do the faceoffs, he just stood there, but somehow he managed to win them again my Evo Getzlaf with 94 faceoffs, didn't matter what I tried he won then, what the hell is that?! I managed to win some when I pushed extra hard on the controller (lol) but I just don't get it how in the hell can he win when he's not even trying?

I destroyed him in all other aspects of the game, but when it came to faceoff I couldn't do shit, anyone even encouter that before?
