The inability of the average person to comprehend inflation.

My (23M) father has a decent job plus income from our small agricultural land. He took many loans and other debts to buy some more land in our village. but after I got into a job, it became another reason for him to take more loans to buy a car. we now have about 15 Lakhs in debt, he still thinks that that money is in the form of investment (land, car etc) and its okay. Now he started talking about builing a new house from previously brought land by taking another loan. I acted harsh on him for the first time to stop him from doing this and now he is being silent. I have huge respect for my dad but the old fashioned way he handles money and not knowing the real costs of these loans pisses me off. I couldnt invest much of my salary on equities as half it goes to pay off this existing loans...
