So I started this summer gig 2 months ago. Here is the dilemma, I find the boss extremely inappropriate/unprofessional from the very beginning. Keep in mind, it’s all in the context. Two weeks in, there are 3 people including me. the boss tells how the tourists in nyc are just taking the pics of the bulls (Bull statue in NYC) balls. It was so cringeworthy, I was so uncomfortable. And, the other girl was just laughing and all of sudden one day he is telling me how the dating company went bankrupt in the same building. And, he went into details what dating coming does. I just found that so unprofessional. And, then he started sending me chat on my personal gmail account. I just blocked him. Anyway, so this resulted in me being very quiet and only speaking to him when I needed to and lots of time he sends petty emails and over looks the facts and doesn’t do due-diligence so I corrected him via emails and then few days ago he hauls me to a conference room and yells at me front of my colleagues that how I am so “confrontational and I don’t look at him, when he speaks.” I am definitely irritated because it’s my coping mechanism due to his unprofessionalism.
Anyway the coworker-who I share the computer with, left her gmail (work account) signed in and a message/chat popped up and I looked, all she was discussing me with another coworker who started a month ago and she trained him…I barely ever spoke to her, and mostly have been so nice to her and she is bit shady but nice to me in person. I was so shocked to read and see these two just discussing me, she telling him “ I have dark energy” when we don’t even work the same shift, “how I am rude, hostile and should be fired” and just on and on, this goes back to early June. I never trusted the guy who started recently and seems like they both maybe involved as he was telling her he like her “infectious laugh” or something and she should “replace me” the second shift and all their conversation was about me in a negative way how I should be fired, etc.
But i am trying to find another job at the same time keeping my resume current but it’s has been extra stressful after finding out this conversation between two backstabbing idiots. How would you deal with this?
