I was watching my brother and his friends/teammates play a game of cricket in the field after school when one mate got hit in the face by another simply throwing the ball to him. Not even pitching. Though a cricket ball is heavier and much harder than a baseball, these were only third graders without the strength or speed of professionals. The amount of blood he was covered in, I was ready to faint myself. The kid basically blacked out and dropped to the ground like a sack of potatoes. This was almost 20 years ago and I've forgotten a ton, but the memory of this little boy's face, neck and front of shirt just soaked in blood is lodged in my brain forever.
