Text chat is just a bad addition, it makes people thinks it okay they don’t have a mic. Like they can’t communicate or do any call outs when we are in a fight. They can’t say zarya popped bubbles, merch is gonna rez, sombra is beating my ass in the backline… I just mute the text chat. If you can’t use a mic and communicate in comp then your not even hear for the right reasons to start. It’s competitive, not casual, people are trying hard to win and communication makes a huge difference. Still sad being a masters 1 playing with GMs and people don’t come to chat.

When everyone comes with mics it’s a whole entire different game, it’s actually crazy. It’s way more fun, more competitive, way easier to win. The team can sort out its issues and people can defend eachother, or back people up when someone’s being toxic, or someone needs to switch. For me I mute text chat though because I could care less about what anybody has to say if they have nothing to say when it’s needed in a fight. It’s only empty comments with no reasoning, tank diff, or some other dumb comment I could care less to see. I just wish the keyboard warriors who have no balls could see I won’t see their dumbass texts and would come to game chat to her the teams comms and or communicate to help us win.
