To your edit... you realize the point of restrictions is to make random crime more difficult right? Not to fully prevent it? Is your logic really that “because we can never fully prevent it, we shouldn’t try to slow it”?

Also would you really be worried about getting robbed? Lol you got an AR15 for defense, and I would assume he trained/permitted to hold it. Are some burglars genuinely a concern in this situation?
