Indigenous woman harassed by South Asian landlord over smudging awarded $23,000 damages

Are you sure all of these posters don't have some native roots and are tired of seeing culture misrepresented for monetary gain? To do so is very disrespectful to the elders and proper treatment of culture.

There's something called "benevolent racism" wherein indigenous people are seen as "noble savages". Height of moral perfection before the big bad white man came along, so to speak. It's not seeing the indigenous as what they are - human. Fully capable of every negative, positive and grey area in between like any other race. It's actually very demeaning and condescending. Look it up.

You'll find it in a lot of hippies who think they're being open minded and readily hop on high horses when they themselves don't actually know cultural nuances. But it's trendy to be kumbaya, right? Same poor taste held by the anti-indigenous crowd.
