Yep, and never got anything to the actual address associated with my Apple ID / had submitted.

However, my understanding is mostly everyone who got the 48hr email got it to their real Apple ID, which in this case I didn't (iCloud, but not Apple ID at the time) - so take my experience with a grain of salt.

Also, for anyone who reads my experience and thinks to follow suit, changing your 3rd party Apple ID to your iCloud account is one way. You can't go back, and if you have more than one device you literally have to sign out and back into every single Apple ID related service as some auto-update, and some don't, and lots of weird syncing issues start happening.
