I mean, good grief. It seems like every 4 - 6 years, we shake up Congress by voting one party out and another one in, and every time they are finally going to fix things, but nothing ever gets done. Just look at how much time, energy, and money has been wasted fighting over who's going to get elected next, when the money spent on the shutdown would have funded a big chunk of border barriers and paid salaries of a bunch of border agents. Instead, we got nothing. And here we are, a month later, and we still got nothing, but more fighting and lawsuits. The "solution" of "just vote them out of office if you don't like what they're doing" isn't adequate to solve the massive problem of congressional malpractice that's been going on for as long as I've been alive. I just don't know what it's going to take to just get them to solve today's problems as well as we can, so we can get to work on tomorrow's problems that are coming at us like a screaming jet. Just the money squandered on political bullshit could provide healthcare to a big chunk of people needing help, but instead, they spend it on investigating each other in a fight to get themselves elected. Our dysfunctional congress is no longer a body of law makers. They are just a very expensive bunch of electioneering con artists, and I'm full up to my eyeballs with frustration.
