Ingress portal submissions for level 11 and above, and what that means for pokemon go.

Let me explain the full situation for context. My house is located next to an antique store that has quite the large amount of visible attractions. When I moved here, there was a gym at the antique store, another Pokestop next to the store at a Dunkin Donuts, and another one across the street at a diner. I already felt that was quite a few locations for what is not a viable area (IMO - since these are relatively low traffic areas off a main road). The pokestop at the DD was already suspect since it's simply a picture across the way of an item in the antique store's window. The gym at the antique store is of a special iron pot on display outside and the one at the diner was of a very attractive mural in their parking lot. I can hit all 3 of those locations from a central spot, and I thought it was luck that I had 3 all together in an area of little significance.

Fast forward to about 2 months ago when a new gym pops up at the diner (of a phonebooth inside the diner), transforming the gym at the antique store into a Pokestop. I now have 4 spots in a small location that has what I would believe insignificant value in comparison to other locations that have Pokestops/gyms in such close proximity (parks, downtown areas, high foot traffic locations)

On an similar note, there is something sketchy about the names of the users that frequently take the new gym over (I've thought they might be spoofers or someone running several accounts) but I can't say for sure the two are related.

I'm not saying I'm 100% right on the change itself, just simply that the changes seemed out of place. I have played Ingress before and unless it's changed drastically in the past year, I just don't see how the Ingress controlled changes - even well-intended - effect a game and, more importantly a community, that plays and coordinates themselves in different ways.
