Alrighty. Well, Boer camps started out as refugee camps but became concentration camps because the internees didn’t receive adequate shelter, food, or medical care. They died by the thousands due to poor planning and neglect. They didn’t die in gas chambers but the world (and Britannica) still defines those camps as concentration camps. The public initially didn’t know how poorly people were being treated, so they supported the camps.

All of that is 100% fact, most of it from your preferred source; none of it is my opinion. I’m not interested in arguing, just pointing out that Britannica doesn’t see things quite that black and white.
