Initial Impression: Grant Stone Diesel in Tan Essex

Yet there's also an issue with made in the USA companies using sweatshops. LA has a lot of with garment factories packed with Philippino and and Latino workers being underpaid and overworked. https://www.latimes.com/projects/la-fi-forever-21-factory-workers/

Also, it's not as bad anymore, but there used to be major abuse of the special economic zone (SEZ) system where parts of Guam/American Samoa, etc. were outside US labor laws and companies would ship in all their workers from Southeast Asia to work in sweatshops and claim "MIUSA".

From what I gather, the factory that makes Grant Stone's shoes pays its workers a reasonable wage (they also make shoes for other brands like J. Crew). I have a few pairs of GSs and am really happy with them. I have enough shoes and boots to last me many years, but the next time I need a pair of actual work boots, I'll look into somewhere like White's or Truman. They may have their issues but at least they're above board.
