Injured Lovebird

An emergency vet should be able to at least triage wounds (stop bleeding) and give your bird some antibiotics of something until you can get to the avian vet. If you call the avian vets office, even if closed, they may have recommendations on emergency vets that treat exotics. Even if it's after hours many places have an emergency service where someone answers the phone. Some emergency vets may not take exotics or the vet may be unwilling to treat them - my vet had to consult and shame an emergency vet he knew to treat bleeding wounds on my bird. My vet advised just showing up at an emergency vet vs calling because even if they aren't excited about treating a bird, they are less likely to turn down an injured animal in front of them. YMMV. When I called to ask my vet after hours about e-vets they told me the location he works as an e-vet so I actually saw an avian vet.

In the meantime a hospital cage type set up (either in a smaller travel cage or making his cage more accessible) can help. Easy access to favorite foods (eating is important, not nutrition) and water.

It's been a couple hours since you posted, how is your little dude doing now?
