Inquiry into Expanding Melbourne's Free Tram Zone

I support expansion to, at least, the Casino and Botanical Gardens. It seems ridiculous to me that we offer free tram services to encourage tourism, yet block free access to maybe two of Melbourne's most significant tourist attractions merely because they are one stop south of the river.

providing free fares for all full time students

I don't mind giving students free transport but I insist that students must give up their seats for full fare paying passengers.

removing fares for all Seniors Card holders

I don't mind giving senior citizens free travel, but I insist that it is open to all people over a certain age, not just local residents with Seniors Cards. If older people want to visit from overseas I would like them to be afforded free transport, too.

And I insist older people can claim seats even if they travel for free.

new technologies that enable intelligent transport systems that improve the performance of the networks

That's complete fluff. I guess that's money going to somebody's mate to do something airy fairy without specific goals.

the effects and benefits of dynamic public transport pricing

Uh-oh. Let's sneak in some complicated pricing structures (like a mobile phone bill) so we can surprise ordinary folk with our profit grab!
