I tried too hard to accept and build them up, and taking an interest in their stuff. The hard headed one cut me off and says I'm a failure as a father so he can be an edgy victim, and the nice one ignores me to spend all his time with his friends unless I go over and ambush him in person at his mom's house lol. They tell me they will comeback in a few years ( even if mom was trying to poison them against me), after they get done role playing adults and just be one. I spent their whole life trying to teach them their strengths how to think for them selves and spending every penny to spend time with them. Now I'm scared I'll die alone same as the psycho parents everyone complains about. Some say that's why parents should focus on being in a stable relationship to model it for them instead of focusing on the kids, to leave them to discover themselves and don't be such a helpy helperton. Too bad you don't get a second chance.
