Inside the Walk-In Rant Thread: Go off in this thread

Boss restructured the tip pool and I took a 15% loss, shit sucks right before Christmas got passed over for a promotion to line too on top of it. They went with an outside hire, I mostly do dish but it’s not a traditional kitchen set up so I fill other roles as needed. Line crew wasn’t getting tips when they did prep, they all have a hirer base pay and get more hours so pay day they’re making more than me but I was getting a higher hourly rate so I kinda get it but fuck it hurts to have your boss look you in the eye and tell you they think you’re worth less than they are paying you. Worst part of this is one of the line crew who is pretty much the sous and co owner of the place is one of my good friends, like a friend I’ve know for 10+ years and was even roommates with, who had to be in on the decision, could have even been their idea. I want to cry, life hasn’t been going too well and I really had it in my head that this was going to be a break for me, that it was the start of career and I was going to get in on the ground floor of something great but I’m just a 30 year old dishwasher, that’s my role that’s what I’m there for.
